Job Description Fresher - 1. Perform all duties of a Call Center Rep I & II as needed. 2. Assist in the training of new employees. 3. Assist in the development & presentation of departmental training. 4. Maintain and/or troubleshoot systems. Recommend modifications as necessary. 5. Perform specialty services functions. 6. Serve as a resource within the organization. 7. Provide instruction for and perform non-routine functions. 8. May give work direction to others. 9. Perform research and analysis. 10. Represent the department supervisor in his/her absence. 11. Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies related to billing issues. 12. Adherence to both published and expected department Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)/Goals. 13. Ensures that the necessary data, information and forms are obtained and entered into the appropriate system. 14. Investigates and resolves customer/patient requests, questions or problems. 15. Receives telephone calls from customers/patients inquiring about services or having problems. 16. Speaks with the customer/patient to learn questions and sources of problems. 17. Answers questions, applying knowledge of the assigned function and of Prexus Health policies and procedures. 18. Determines cause of problems; speaks with coworkers to research problems and find a solution. 19. Updates management as to explain system errors or to recommend changes to the system. 20. Contacts outside representatives to request information or assistance in resolving problems. 21. Provide services in a manner to be regularly and conveniently available to meet the needs of both patients and Prexus facilities as determined by department management. 22. Develop knowledge and professional skills through cross-training, literature and attendance at department meetings. 23. Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency. 24. Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile
1. Associates degree or equivalent training/certification preferred. 2. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 3. Capable of working independently, performing non-routine functions & problem solving. 4. Recommendation for advancement by the direct supervisor based upon performance ratings and business need (generally one CCR III per team/unit). 5. Minimum of 4 years previous work experience required. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT Codes preferred. Certified coder (CPC) is preferable. 6. Expert knowledge of related departmental policies and procedures. 7. Demonstrated leadership skills and qualities required. 8. Demonstrated ability to type 45 wpm. 9. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 10. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. 11. Ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the business office and/or other billing systems. 12. Experience using a medical software billing system. Must be familiar with various Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). 13. Ability to perform accurate arithmetical functions involving whole numbers and percentages.
